Studies have shown that the method of the median section gives a increase of log on to 2.94 %, compared to adopted actually. The other methods considered in their application lead to a decrease in the volume of logs(0,18...9,78%). When choosing a method for determining the volume of logs it is necessary to consider the contents of logs of a certain shape and to perform the adjustment of the volume of raw materials. All this gives more intelligently and to plan the technological process of wood-sawing production.

Аннотация: выполнен анализ различных методов определения объёма круглых лесоматериалов для наиболее встречаемой формы бревна – выпуклого параболоида вращения. Исследования показали, что метод срединного сечения даёт увеличение объёма бревна на 2,94 %, по сравнению с принятым фактически. Остальные рассмотренные методы при их применении приводят к уменьшению объёма бревна(0,18…9,78%). При выборе метода определения объёма бревен необходимо учитывать содержание брёвен определённой формы и проводить корректировку объёма сырья. Всё это позволяет более точно и эффективно планировать технологический процесс лесопильного производства.
