The article contains the results of the research, the purpose of which was to create an optimal methodology for assessing the availability of forest resources. The analysis of various aspects of the investigated issue (ecological, economic, technological, technical) is carried out, its key positions are defined. The main factors that can influence the level of availability of forest resources are identified. The experience of creating a software product on the basis of geographical information and analytical systems intended for a detailed assessment of the whole set of factors determining the level of availability of forest resources is presented
availability of forest resources, profitability, logging, geographical information-analytical systems, transport accessibility of forest.
