Аннотация: в статье, на основе анализа динамики многолетних данных, показан рост населения на территории ЦЧ. Это вызвало увеличение площадей агроландшафтов за счет значительного сокращения площадей природных ландшафтов и, в первую очередь, площадей занятых лесами. Ретроспективная оценка роли леса в экологической сбалансированности агроландшафтов показала, что устойчивость и самоорганизация агроландшафтов без лесных насаждений невозможна. Роль леса в экологической устойчивости ландшафтов обще признана. Но рост населения на территории, распахивание земель под сельскохозяйственное производство приводят в первую очередь к уменьшению площадей занятых лесами. Рассмотрим это явление на территории Центрального Черноземья в ретроспективе.
