The article discusses the necessity of coordination methods for determining seed’s quality. Forest seed stations of different countries use different methods, therefore it’s necessary to cor-rect germination factors. The countries with similar climatic, weather and soil conditions can maneuver seed successfully in off years. The Congress of representatives of the countries of the Barents region, held in August 2008, has decided to conduct a comparison of germination of the seed of fir-tree, collected in Finland.
